Sessions

Introductory and Q&A sessions will be offered in addition to deep-dive sessions on Enterprise Library, Software Factories, and proven practices.

Web Client Software Factory v2.0

Learn to use the new Guidance Bundles in the Web Client Software Factory v2.0 to develop responsive web client applications using ASP.NET AJAX. Offer real-time autocomplete functionality in your web applications using the new ContextSensitiveAutoCompleteExtender Control in the Autocomplete Guidance Bundle. Leverage the new ServerSideValidationExtender in the Validation Guidance Bundle to provide real-time server-side validation in web forms using ASP.NET AJAX Asynchronous PostBacks. Use the RealTimeSearchMonitor Control in the Search Bundle to offer real-time search functionality via ASP.NET AJAX. Optionally use Model-View-Presenter and the MVP-Friendly ObjectContainerDataSource Control when requiring more testability of the view.

Web Services Software Factory Modeling Edition

The Service Factory (WSSF) Modeling Edition focuses on building the server side of a web services infrastructure, using either ASMX or WCF services. The new release uses three Domain Specific Languages (DSLs) to model services: service contract, data contract and host models. Through use of these DSLs, WSSF helps developers construct a scalable, extensible web service framework from the service interfaces to the translation of domain data into business entities, and back! This session will get you jump-started in building your own services infrastructure using the WSSF.

The Perfect Pattern Storm, where TDD meets UX and MVP

As host of ARCast.TV, Ron Jacobs has a front row seat to observe the constantly shifting architectural landscape. In this session we will consider what happens when the force of test driven development (TDD) collides with the demand for better UX.

Introducing the ASP.NET MVC Framework from Microsoft

The new ASP.NET MVC Framework from Microsoft allows one to write web applications that better separate the user interface from the business logic through the use of Models, Views, and Controllers. Learn how to create ASP.NET Web Applications using the new ASP.NET MVC Framework as well as the advantages and disadvantages compared to current webform development.
